The Importance of Expanding Your Law Firm’s Existing Web Content:

In order for your law firm’s website to remain fresh, new content must be added continually – and regularly. In addition, the content must be optimized for search engines. This type of content is referred to as SEO content. What this means is that the content itself must be relevant, new, interesting, of high quality and original. Do You Need Fresh Legal Web Content?

If your law firm has a website, chances are –you spent thousands of dollars developing it. If you are like most lawyers, you even added interesting flash animation to your homepage. Unfortunately, unless your website is ranked on the first few pages of Google, your website is not working FOR you.

Google and Bing rank websites according to how relevant they believe your site to be. Another words, the more useful your site is to web searchers, the better your rank will be. No matter how much money you spend optimizing your site and adding flash animation, your site will not be one of the top ranked legal websites without good content.

If your site isn’t drawing in additional clients for your firm, you may want to consider updating or increasing your website’s content. As a freelance writer, I write web content designed to get noticed by both potential clients AND Google. People who are injured in car accidents often find themselves Googling their injuries and their symptoms. As a result, a great way to reach potential clients is by including articles on injuries themselves. If you are a personal injury attorney, you may consider adding content that focuses on traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, whiplash, soft tissue injuries and herniated discs. In addition, you can add articles that focus on a particular type of accident such as side impact collisions and commercial trucking accidents.

While many attorneys hire paralegals or law students to write these articles, the majority of them do not understand how to write an article geared towards the average person. They may use overly technical terminology or legal jargon. In addition, the majority of them do not know how to write articles that are search engine optimized (SEO).

IF your legal website is not working for you…..consider adding some fresh web content to your site this new year. Contact me for a free quote!
